In honor of the lovely Catherine’s (check out her blog: Fresh to Fearless) day of birth, I decided to take a little road-trip to the Land of Birthday Cake.
Let me tell you, Birthday Cake is like a foreign country to me, and the locals are not friendly. I don’t know the language, the temperature is all wrong, and there are strange tools I do not know how to use.
I would have to move to Cake Land for quite some time to truly become comfortable there, but for now, an occasional trip is all I can manage. I’ll pick up the language eventually, and then maybe the locals will trust me..
It could be that I bought the “intro to cake decorating” kit at Ikea (for $4). Now that is a foreign language. Well….foreign stick figures I suppose? And we all know how great Ikea is with instructions….
As seems to be my “thing”, the cake was delicious, if not quite as gorgeous as I would have hoped. I think I’m going to go with it and call it my “signature”. It’s all about what’s on the inside, right?
I think I did OK though. It was pretty freakin’ cute.
